Last month, representatives from Bowman attended two major events in Germany: The Hydrogen Tech Expo in Bremen and the Supercharging Conference in Dresden. Both events are always high on our agenda each year because of the cutting-edge technology on display and the opportunity to connect with industry leaders in hydrogen tech development and turbocharging. We are excited to share the highlights with you.
Hydrogen Tech Expo
Starting with our experience at the Hydrogen Tech Expo. This exhibition brought together the entire hydrogen supply chain together, fostering discussions on a wide range of topics. Our Head of Sales, Dominic had the chance to see everything from the latest technology and solutions for low-carbon hydrogen production to efficient storage, transport, and infrastructure. Spanning across three halls, the event also delved into design, testing, development, manufacturing, and materials for hydrogen fuel cells.
Managing to get around almost every stand, Dominic said “it’s clear that significant advancements have been made in the hydrogen tech space, most notably fuel cells, valves, and pumps. Shows like this provide the chance for these organisations to showcase their tech and allow companies like Bowman to engage in meaningful discussions with these businesses who could be potential new customers. This helps us to find out how we can help develop the technology further through co-developments and where we can improve our technology. Lastly, the shows provided the chance to catch-up with some of existing key development clients which helps to further strengthen our relationships”.
We are already looking forward to next year's Hydrogen Tech Expo in Hamburg, scheduled for the 23rd-24th of October 2024. With over 650 exhibitors and 300 speakers expected to participate, it's an event you won't want to miss!
Supercharging Conference
At the Supercharging Conference in Dresden, our experts Keith (Performance Engineering Director) and Shinri (Advanced Engineering Director) took centre stage to present a paper on the development and validation of a two-stage electric compressor system. This paper addressed how Bowman set out to develop a solution, StartIQ™, to eradicate turbocharger lag and allow their use in transient applications without negatively impacting the steady state performance of the engine.
Speaking after the show, Keith said “it was a pleasure to attend the 27th Supercharging Conference in Dresden – not only to keep up to date with the latest developments in turbocharging solutions from industry and academia, but to also have the opportunity to present the benefits of our new eCompressor development for high-speed engines”.
The Supercharging Conference provided a valuable platform to showcase Bowman's expertise and foster collaborations within our precision-focused industry. It was an excellent opportunity to engage with fellow experts and industry peers, reinforcing our position as leaders in our field.
Like the Hydrogen Tech Expo, Bowman is looking forward to the 28th Supercharging Conference, due to take place from the 26th – 27th September 2024.
Looking Ahead to Q4
The Bowman team finds itself in the midst of a high-paced and transformative period. Q3 has proven to be yet another remarkable quarter for Bowman Power Group, marked by significant achievements and meaningful engagements – not least the events discussed above.
