We’re now 31 weeks into 2023 and the team at Bowman continue to be flat out on all our projects with new project enquiries coming in and the addition of more staff!

Q2 saw an extraordinary period of growth and progress for Bowman, marked by significant achievements and breakthroughs as we continue to push boundaries. This has led to our team needing to expand rapidly, with our headcount now up to 60 employees. This expansion can be attributed to the acquisition of new projects and our ability to drive them through various stages of development, requiring diverse engineering expertise across different disciplines.

Our exciting product StartIQ™ continues to attract interest from industry with several key organisations keen to improve the ramp rate of their gas gensets when starting up to meet the demands of the national grid, whilst simultaneously reducing their use of fuel and emissions output.

For those who may not be familiar with StartIQ™, it is a cutting-edge electric compressor (eCompressor) powered by our innovative TorqIQ® technology. Specifically designed for internal combustion engines running on natural gas (with plans for hydrogen integration in the future), StartIQ™ delivers significantly improved dynamic response times, by overcoming turbo lag, allowing gas gensets to decrease the time taken to ramp-up. This outstanding feature enables data centres, fast response grid balancing, island mode, emergency standby, and microgrid applications to be fully prepared to meet the ever-increasing demands of their customers.

Looking ahead to the rest of Q3, we have an exciting lineup of events that will further bolster our presence in the industry and open new opportunities. One such event is the highly anticipated Hydrogen Technology exhibition, scheduled to be held in Bremen from September 27th to 28th. We are thrilled to announce that our Programmes Director, Will Bowers, and Head of Sales, Dominic Spencer, will be representing Bowman Power Group at this exhibition. Their attendance will allow us to explore the latest developments within the industry and identify potential areas for collaboration and growth.

Moreover, we are proud to share that several key members of our organisation, including our CEO Paul Dowman-Tucker, Performance Engineering Director Keith Douglas, and Advanced Engineering Director Shinri Szymko, will be participating in the Supercharging Conference in Dresden on September 26th-27th. This conference promises to showcase groundbreaking advancements in turbocharging, featuring keynote speeches from OEMs and suppliers.

During the event, Keith and Shinri will present a white paper on the development and validation of the StartIQ™ electric compressor. Their presentation is certain to be an insightful contribution to the conference, and we encourage attendees to engage with them, ask questions, and exchange ideas.

Lastly, here at Bowman Power Group, we believe in nurturing talent and fostering a collaborative work environment. If you share our passion for sustainable technology and wish to join one of the UK's fastest growing and most inspirational technology companies, the please explore our live recruitment site. There, you will find current vacancies in engineering and project-focused roles.

We’d like to thank all our supporters who continue to believe in Bowman Power Group's vision. Together, we are committed to making a difference in the pursuit of a more sustainable future.
