Bowman has today launched its new eTurbo Systems technology, along with an expansion of its current successful product range, based on its unique capability in electrified turbomachinery.
Bowman’s eTurbo Systems technology offers the ability to independently and, with real-time responsiveness, dynamically optimise both engine boosting and heat recovery, ensuring engines and hydrogen fuel cells rise to the challenge of being more efficient, more responsive, and more adaptable, and that they provide clean, sustainable power.
There are five configurations of eTurbo Systems technology that Bowman is offering, providing benefits via on-demand boost pressure and/or exhaust waste heat recovery:
- Bolt-on Boost Assist by eCompressor
- Integrated Boost Assist by eTurbocharger
- Full eTurbocharger – Boost Assist and Heat Recovery
- Integrated Heat Recovery by eTurbocharger
- Bolt-on Heat Recovery by eTurbine
Through the application of intelligent electrification and digital technology to allow real-time control and optimisation, the eTurbo Systems offer unrivalled flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness in an uncertain world. Customers can benefit from improved efficiency and reduced environmental impact, using less fuel, lowering costs, and reducing emissions. The new eTurbo Systems technology ensures long-term sustainability as it enables the transition of combustion engines to alternative fuels (including carbon-free fuels) and substantially enhances the performance of hydrogen fuel cells.
Paul Dowman-Tucker, CEO of Bowman Power, commented, “We are really excited about this new chapter in the Bowman story, powered by our new eTurbo Systems technology. Our new strategy, with new backing from a new investor base, effectively puts us in a start-up position, but a start-up which can also draw on a rich heritage. We are passionate about the sustainability challenge, delivering practical solutions that can make a significant contribution to the world moving to a net-zero future. We look forward to revealing more on our newly updated website, including how we are working with our OEM partners, over the coming months”.
The eTurbo Systems technology provides solutions for a variety of on-highway and off- highway markets including stationary power generation, road transport, marine transport, rail, datacentres, gas compression, power rental, agriculture, and mining.
