Bowman Power Group Ltd (Bowman) was shortlisted for an Eastern Area Innovation Award by the Institute of Water.
Bowman was shortlisted for their latest Electric Turbo Compounding (ETC) product, ETC 1000, which converts waste exhaust gas energy into electrical power. This technology was nominated for achieving an impressive 5% fuel saving and considerable emissions reduction for a UK bio-energy customer running Jenbacher J320 engines.
Bowman competed with other innovations serving the water sector, including analytics, flow/pressure control, turbines, filtration, sensors and more. All of the technologies went head to head in a pitch, held in Peterborough on 6th March, to a panel of expert judges from the water sector.
The Institute of Water is a professional body that exclusively supports the careers of anyone working in the UK water industry. With these awards they wanted to find the latest technologies that could enhance the water sector from individuals, teams and organisations.
In addition to the Eastern Area awards, the Institute of Water held seven further award ceremonies in other key locations across the UK.
